TRENDS REPORT: Pleated Skirts

| Pleated skirts are a current big trend that made it's first reappearance on last years fall collection. And it has conquered Spring 2011 runways in it's many forms and lengths! Michael Kors and Tommy Hilfiger are two major Fashion Houses that included mostly maxi pleated skirts in their shows. And this trend is apparent in all other Fashion Houses and markets.


Accordion pleats are the big fever, with many celebrities wearing it in mini, mid and maxi skirts. But they come in many other different shapes like lighter ruffled pleats in balloon shape skirts. Pleats have crossed-over also to the dresses creating fluid and wavy forms.


And the trend has been quite seen on the streets. If we look into Lookbook, Chisicimo or other street style websites we can find many examples on how to wear it! Although they look more elegant with heels, you can use them with flat sandals for a casual look.


So if you want to get some for this summer, Forever 21 and H&M, known for delivering fashionable items at reasonable prices have in their stores all forms of pleated skirts. But just get it, because pleated skirts are a Season's MUST-HAVE!

| All the colors in the spectrum are out there for us to use! This year's Spring collection has finally brought to the Runway and to the Streets strong neon fluoride colors. It's a delight to walk on the streets these days, and watch the amazing colors worn.


One of my favorite designers, Aquilano Rimondi, completely rocked my world with the Spring Ready-to-Wear 2011 collection. There's a mix of wonderful neon like colors in the best lines. Shorts, skirts, broad leg pants, blazers and blouses, in silky fluid fabrics. I just loved to see this collection and it has often inspired me in my daily looks.


Zara, Blanco and Bershka have brought these colors into their collections and you can grab a stylish piece of clothing in a neon color for a very affordable price. You'll look happier as ever.
